Have been going to Peony for years! I honestly can say my family and I will always be very grateful to have such authentic restaurant at our door step. yes it has been taken over by new owner and food is somewhat a little different but it is still delicious and better than a lot of restaurants in Hong Kong. I also noticed they have replaced table cloths and chopsticks the place is a lot cleaner! Owner is friendly and evidently put a lot of effort in her work place. I am grateful for Peony and I am glad I don't have to travel an hour to have delicious dim sum! Keep up with the good work! Recent visit: the crab meat dumpling (red one in the pic) omg! Must try!

Peony has always been the go-to restaurant for me and my buddies. I’ve lost count of how many times we are visiting this place (on a weekly basis for the past 2 years). This is as good as you can get in Stoke area and service is great, price is friendly.
The food was good and very reasonable, large quantities as well. Service did take some time however the staff were really sweet during interactions. The place is a little too small and can get congested.
Great service, nice location. Many food options, portion is nice, serves dim sum all day, but seasoning is too light. Limited tables, around 6-7. Not many street parking spaces available.
This was a bit of an odd experience for me but that may be due to it being my first visit. Walked in early without a booking as a solo diner and there were many empty seats/tables. A “walk in” Chinese couple followed me upstairs and into the “restaurant”. I was initially ignored and they were greeted and seated as if I wasn’t there. I stood waiting to get seated. They eventually acknowledged me and I had to wait for a couple of minutes until the staff had cleared a load of coats, phones, chargers, shopping & rammle from a small two seater table before I could sit down. Didn’t really mind that as the only people eating in there looked like Chinese, so that’s always a sign of good food in a Chinese restaurant. There was a bit of confusion around payment methods as I was initially told “cash only” at which point I started to stand up and put on my jacket. I was then told “or bank transfer”. Told them that I could only pay by company card when I was told “oh ok”! I spent the whole mealtime wondering if there was going to be an issue at the end Ordered the garlic shrimp spring rolls for starters, Singapore fried rice & curry sauce for main course and a bottle of beer. Fifteen minutes later they brought out the Singapore fried rice not sure if they thought I was being awkward but I wanted my starter first so sent the rice back. The spring rolls eventually arrived and they were delicious! Still no beer though despite two staff standing around. The Singapore fried rice reappeared soon after the starter was finished and this was also delicious & perfectly done. The curry sauce was a bit bland but the rice definitely compensated. The beer eventually arrived half way through my main course. Overall: Food is beautiful Service leaves a bit to be desired The place is more of a cafe than a restaurant Prices are very reasonable Card payments ARE accepted despite what they tell you when you arrive
First class dim sum. Quality is some of the best I've had in the UK. Tasted fresh and authentic. Rice noodles seemed hand made as well.
Nice service, tasty food. Loved the steamed sweet rolls, wow. Better than similar establishments in the neighbourhood. I suggest you visit
